BROOKS MUSEUM *
The Brooks Museum has a variety of rotating exhibits, events, and ongoing programs. They offer a variety of volunteer opportunities depending on your individual interests, skills, and availability. 
CHOICES & PLANNED PARENTHOOD *
There are many ways you can volunteer at Planned Parenthood — from making phone calls in your own living room, to being trained to help out in our health centers.
Feed Memphis
Feed Memphis teams meet each Friday (September through May) at various locations of The Life Church and carpool to five local North Memphis schools, to serve children affected by Food Insecurity. Once at the schools, volunteers unload the food bags from the Serve trucks and prepare to greet the kids with lots of smiles, encouragement, high fives and hugs, as they hand out bags to every child. ​
​FIRST CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH DAILY FOOD SERVICES
Monday through Friday, from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. this church serves a free hot lunch to people who may need it. You can volunteer by assisting in the making of the food or by moving supplies.
​HABITAT FOR HUMANITY (RESTORE) *
The ReStore depends on volunteers to sort and organize donations, stock shelves, assist customers, test appliances and electronics, and much more.
​Hopeworks *
​By implementing a holistic approach through daily classes and meals, educational training, and spiritual counseling, HopeWorks strives to break the cycle of crime, addiction, and generational poverty that traps so many in our city. HopeWorks provides various volunteering opportunities from being a lunch provider or faith encourager, to providing commodities and volunteering at events. Sign up to become involved.
​HUMANE SOCIETY OF MEMPHIS AND SHELBY COUNTY *
Become a volunteer at the animal shelter and help with multiple tasks such as caring for animals and help animals find a new home! Go to the "Volunteer Process" page to register.
​MEMPHIS BOTANIC GARDEN *
Memphis Botanic Garden has different events all year that include holiday events, horticulture events, and much more. Register by clicking on events on the calendar.
​MEMPHIS CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER (CAC) *
This organization works to help children who are victims of sexual and severe physical abuse. At the CAC, you can make care and hygiene packages for child victims or sort through teddy bears that will be given to child victims. To apply, scroll down and you will find a link that will take you to a copy of the volunteer application.
​​MEMPHIS FARMERS MARKET *
Volunteering at the Memphis Farmers Market Downtown is a fun, interactive way to give back to our community by supporting local farmers, producers, and artisans, while educating market visitors about healthy eating habits, good nutrition, and the benefits of "eating fresh and local." Whether you’re interested in serving on one of our numerous committees, or you’d rather roll up your sleeves, "dig in the dirt," and plow into 'fun on the farm' on market-day Saturdays, the Memphis Farmers Market has a spot for you! You can also join the volunteer database to be notified of any volunteering opportunities.
Memphis Zoo *
The Memphis Zoo has various volunteering opportunities such as sepcial event volunteers, general volunteers, and docents. These volunteering opportunities have different skill, time, and age requirements. Some allow you to assist with zoo keeping duties while some allow you to help in directing and guiding visitors.
​METHODIST SUMMER VOLUNTEER *
This summer program offers hands-on experience for 15- to 17-year-olds who want to learn more about the healthcare industry while giving back. Information and the special application for this program are posted each year in April.
​MID-SOUTH FOOD BANK *
​Volunteers will be doing all that is necessary in the collection, organization, and delivery of foods. Jobs include sorting through canned food donations, bagging food donations, as well as getting out and encouraging the public to donate.
​MIFA MEALS ON WHEELS
MIFA has several volunteer opportunities, one of them being its Meals on Wheels program. You must have a driver’s license OR come with someone who has a driver’s license. The program allows you to go around Memphis and deliver food to people in need.
​NATIONAL CIVIL RIGHTS MUSEUM
Volunteers are needed on the weekend as greeters and exhibit monitors from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. Responsibilities include assisting guests, directing groups, and providing Museum information with a friendly attitude.
​ROOM IN THE INN
This is a program that hosts homeless people in the community in local churches. You will be able to help serve dinner and help them settle down for the evening.
​SHELBY FARMS PARK
Shelby Farm Park needs volunteers year-round for events and programs like marathons, garden work, and much more events.
SISTER REACH YOUTH AMBASSADORS (SYA)
The Youth Ambassadors are made up of a group of 13 to 17 years old who are passionate about reproductive justice, policy, and peer mentoring. SYA Meeting are held every other week on Wednesdays from 4 pm until 6 pm and Saturdays from 2 pm until 4 pm. All meetings are held at the SisterReach Office.
​ST MARY'S SOUP KITCHEN *
Anyone can sign up to volunteer for a certain date and time. Volunteering involves serving food. ​
​STS ENTERPRISE CORP
STS Enterprise Corporation is a leadership development organization, dedicated to cultivating wiser, more disciplined and productive young men and women. The STS Serves program is designed to create volunteer opportunities for youth and college students to give back to the Memphis Community.
​VETERANS AFFAIRS *
Students will receive valuable experience and training which will benefit them in applying for college and jobs. Students who volunteer are eligible for scholarship opportunities from the James H. Parke Memorial Youth Scholarship Award.
